Grow Indoor Herb Garden

The history of herbs dates back to ancient Egyptians and Chinese. Furthermore, references to herbs are made in documents from medieval times and as in the Bible that give evidence that they were known and used in most households. Growing herbs has many benefits to gardeners in some very different purposes. Do not use the seasoning food range, use potpourri, in making tea and medicinal uses, or even a pest control agent in the garden. Some herb garden designs specialize in one specific category of herbs. Other plant designs a variety of herbs for different use categories.

Herbs make great companion plants in the vegetable garden or even in your landscape. They can also be grown indoors in pots or containers. You can also create a beautiful garden windowsill with these plants. Or if you need to produce a little more, herbs can be grown in sufficient only a small area of about 24 square feet, to provide for a small family.

Culinary herbs are ideal for cooking, but also popular because of its sweet-smelling foliage and many are cultivated for their beautiful flowers. There are many uses for these plants, both fresh and dry. Some herbs are ideal to enhance the flavor of recipes and others simply but elegantly decorate salads and serving dishes.

The herbs are grown as annuals or perennials and trees and shrubs. Land Use good drainage is a key to success when planting herbs.
