Garden competition?

As times are tough and people are starting to get miserable i want to have a "competition culture garden" in my community. What you think the people of this idea and good ideas? Is there any way I could get other businesses on board? people want to do? Is this a good idea? What do you think?

I think it would be a good idea becuse not everyone likes art. another way to make ppl happy and unite people is having a party at ING. My street has had one for 6 years and it's great. just put a note in the mail box-weather days the first block party annuel and tell each suppose to bring a dish of food and telephone / E-mail that is bringing nothing great because many people will be there! Plan some simple games like this year we had a bike rodeo and children born there bike and did a little parade and prizes at the end dollar store.!

Starting a garden need lots of vegetables for the advice.?

I have a plot of 20x20 m, that is used for growing vegetables ... We are on the coast, the soil is rocky, they also receive the sea breeze. and have a lot wildlife, how should I proceed from the vegetable garden? I am in Ireland ... Never grew only vegetables before tomatoes in a pot and that was a great success:) Any advice would be a great help ... thank you very much. Do not try carrots or turnips! I have a very, very hard soil, you probably like its rocky soil, and any plants growing at the end of the U-shaped ground Personally I find corn to be very tough, and rewarding results.
