I love using fresh herbs and want to grow an indoor herb garden, but do not know much about him. Terri Jo Lorz

Hi Teresa, a couple ways to grow an indoor herb garden. The first and most popular (and cheap), is in containers. You can do this in a place that will receive at least 4-6 hours of sun a day or you can use grow lights or in some cases, standard fluorescent lights work well. If you are planting the seeds, then try to find more compact seed works best in closed containers. Or you can buy seedlings and transplant and grow in a larger container. Once planted keep the soil moist but not too wet, which can cause root rot. In a month or so you will have plants ready for harvest. The other way is through hydroponics, a method of growing plants without soil. Plants in a hydroponic system derive their water and nutrients directly to the roots several times a day instead of having to search the ground for them and grow faster as a result. These plants also have fewer problems with insects, fungi and diseases, and are generally healthier and happier, they consume much less water. You can buy prefabricated units that come with everything you need and great work if you follow the instructions. Whichever way you decide you must have fresh herbs at your fingertips ready for whatever you want to use them in. Best of luck.
