Interior Staging

Interior Staging

Career change interior decorator?

I am a building manager who wants to follow a dream of interior decoration and / or design. I'm almost 30 and so far I have refurbished models of apartment houses, a couple of areas of my friends and my own house very flattered. This past weekend I won an award from the Chicago apartment associtation for the best model 2 bedroom designer made my uncertified. That was huge for me. But I do this professionally, on my own, and need to know where to start. I still work full time, while this transition, so quitting my current career is not an option. Besides, what can I expect salary wise in this field? I am very interested in the source organization and models for the builders.

Since you have to keep your job on time complete an internship with an experienced designer is not an option. The thing to do is start building a portfolio. You already have their awards, and hopefully some photos of the units that have won for them. There are several ways to build your portfolio. One is volunteering their services. Habitat for Humanity is a cause so worthy. Build housing for people in need and you can donate your time to design using the donated items. Be sure to take photographs before and after, but this is a challenge for beginning desigers basically to prove that they are able to use what is available. In addition, taking on projects for nonprofit organizations, friends, family, anyone willing to risk you. This reference to build a business, besides providing the real-world experience, budgets and executes the business end of design. Making contacts with builders in your area, have cards and brochures outlining and show their work to go. Start with the independent small as most major companies either have their own house designers or work with established design houses that have the ability to work multiple projects simultaneously. The sky is the limit in terms of revenue, depends on how many customers who buy in a year, so basically dictate the income you want to make. Also, be sure to get all business licenses, permits and tax-free card in bulk which enables you to not only the store "for trade", but also waives the sales tax until the goods are sold again. Good luck, design is very successful and lucrative business.

The industry of home staging is alive and well and full of opportunities for anyone wishing to benefit of their creative talents with a fulfilling career decorating homes to sell, which includes women and men! Yes, there are men working in the industry for putting the scene of origin even though they are dramatically lower than their female counterparts. However, there is no good reason why relationships are so unbalanced.

There are plenty of men in real estate. Male interior designers are not hard to come by either. Just look at the media - is can think of a designer with a better career now that Nate Berkus? He is probably one of the most easily recognizable decorators and by the way ... Did you know which has no formal education in interior design?

There is evidence that the lack of a degree in interior design should not hold anyone back to pursue their dreams of working as a redesigned interior stager or home, but you know how to use their talents to become a viable business.

A Once you start looking men in the design industry in the popular media you'll see lots of them. You may have heard of a little show called Extreme Makeover Home Edition. As of this writing, seven of the eleven designers are men, including the very manly Ty Pennington.

One of the most entertaining property reality shows on television would have to be Flipping Out with Jeff Lewis, another successful male designer. Bachelor's degree in legal studies, not design. Did you know that bought, renovated and sold 45 properties in 9 years!

It is incomprehensible to me why only a handful of the most 900 test program graduates Diva ® Home Staging Training are men, mainly because these male graduates are so successful. One such man is of Gary Baugher of a change of 4 eyes in Nashville. Gary made the decision to fear as he left a security management position he had held for 15 years at a car rental company to pursue a career in home staging - but has not looked back since.

Another man who has graduated in Diva Program of stages, Ken Sater Creative Visions home in California, has a history very similar to that of Gerardo. Ken entered stop home after working for 14 years in the insurance industry followed by a 18 years career in mortgage banking. Make a fresh six-figure income his first year as a home stager, I know trade is not being your own boss in staging homes to return to the world of business in the short term.

What could have taken two men in the absence of fields creatives to enter the home staging?

Both found through the purchase and sale of several of their own homes that they could significantly increase the value of a house with his innate ability to make their properties so universally appealing to buyers. Gary and Ken were asked repeatedly by the residents of how could sell their homes so quickly and each of them realized they had the skill of a great value and the market. Each of them was to take advantage of his ability after separated from their desk jobs and congestion on creativity fulfilling field of home staging.

Another successful Diva Graduate Test, Adam Luttrell of Tasmania, Australia has made a success of his booming property Presentation company Shift by Design. His background is in advertising, multimedia, business management and creative development. He eventually discovered that by mixing these skills with a passion for real estate that can really make a difference in the lives of the people "to start a home staging business.

This is another feature of these share three men and a keen focus on turning their talents into successful hosting companies - all genuinely thrilled to help others so positive by dramatically increasing the value of their properties for customers.

If you are a man who has been putting off starting a test run of the house, because the stereotype that only women can do this, or because they have no formal training in decoration, no more excuses. Go for it!
