Small Indoor Herb Garden

Small Indoor Herb Garden

Cover, Herb, vegies, fruit and garden?

Has anyone ever had an indoor garden, and grew things like, cilantro, green peppers, tomatoes, onions, pea pods, and small fruit? I live in Chicago, so we have to have an indoor garden from our growing season is short. Ps. I have a back room facing east that reaches a lot sunny during the morning and evening.

Yes Growth in can be a room where sunlight can enter through the summer. Or would you like grow herbs like rosemary and thyme in pots, in the rest of tomatoes, peas and peppers also make great containers. Try small or miniature pepper, which grows very well in containers, but has great height. http://mytropic-garden.blogspot.com

Building a Basic Herb Garden: Basics of a Typical Herb Garden

A basic herb garden is not difficult to create and can be created in a very small amount of space. Everybody loves an herb garden. Nice with a couple of complaints

by George N. Appenzeller from Fairbanks, AK USA on 2010-08-11
I purchased this to place two gardens in my kitchen for my wife. The set up was fairly easy and the included template worked fine. The overall look is nice and it fits the gardens perfectly and the bases are very sturdy. I have no stability concerns and it looks good. I only placed the bottom two bases on the wall and then put the "topper" on. I will likely add a third later. My three complaints are 1) the metal backs look good but a fairly thin metal and are easily bent. In fact one had an edge bent when I unpacked it. 2) The fit of the backs is less than perfect, however the joins are hidden by the aerogardens. 3) the bottom peice is supposed to attach to a tab, but there is no tab there. It stays without difficulty, but after checking all three bases, there is definately no tab to attach to and it is not as secure as the rest of the peices.None of these would cause me to return it, and my wife and I think it looks great, but they were enough to drop it a star.

attractive and functional

by B. Butcher from Columbus, OH on 2010-05-09
The shelves were very easy to install and since the 2007 review the screws and the electrical strip must have been upgraded because the screws were very strong and the plugs easily went into the wall. My reason for giving it four stars is that the height of the lights are considerably restricted. The top shelf would be able to extend to the full height, the other two can only extend one level beyond the starting level. That height restriction seems to be a considerable concern (I just installed mine). My previous basil and herb plantings ended up needing full extension. We'll see how it goes with lots of pruning. Not hard to install; a stud finder essential.

Perfect space saver

Product arrived quick and in good condition. Instructions were easy to follow. Note-since this does hold three units, it is necessary to make sure you install brackets into solid wood studs or comparable material.

Great Accessory for my Aero Gardens

by Eddie B. Satterly from Marin, CA on 2009-10-14
The mount is a bit cumbersome with the large screws, but if you use smaller screws and washers it works great and easily holds the weight. Great setup and works great even with highest setting on Aero Gardens.

3-Shelf Aerogarden fm Amazon.com (cr)

by Lndh777 from United States on 2008-12-04
I'm really perplexed about why there are so few reviews on the Aerogarden -3 shelf Wall Garden (A3SWG). I could only find two reviews on the A3SWG -- and they are repeated over multiple web retail sites. Odd. My purchase was made on Amazon.com - and since my purchase, delivery and eventual use of the product were without problem, without my written permission, this review may not be duplicated in part or in it's entirety. I've owned and used the 3-shelf Wall Garden for over 2 months now. Installation is made really simple with the use of the paper template included with the A3SWG. I plan to laminate that template in case I ever want to relocate my A3SWG. For installation, I used a power drill, a pencil, a long 4 ft level (may or may not be needed) and a stud finder. The A3SWG is a fairly heavy weight metal product. In fact, if you're considering purchasing one, you might want to get it before some bean-counter at AeroGrow convinces the right executive that it would be cheaper to make large portions of the A3SWG from some cute but brittle plastic. Right now, the backing or covers are like a brushed stainless steel. The A3SWG must be installed through a stud because it's pretty heavy. Despite what it looks like in the photos online, each shelf is actually a separate bracket that must be screwed into a stud Then METAL covers connect to the front of the brackets to make the backing look seamless. I have 3 gardens in a small home so, the A3SWG really saves valuable horizontal space and serves as an an attractive light source during the nighttime hours. The other great feature is that the A3SWG doesn't look overly feminine (good job designers). The adult men I know aren't into decorating or "cute things". When I show off a photo of my wall garden in place they without fail do a double take and say "hey -- that looks pretty good! Where'd you get that?" The A3SWG has a metro look but it's also quite beautiful (this womans perspective). It's just as they describe it -- just make sure you have open space OVER A VERTICAL STUD 7 ft or so for 3 shelves or about 4.5-5 ft for the 2 shelf option. Oh and if you're thinking that you can break it down into 3 separate shelves -- you can, but! the A3SWG doesn't come with enough covers or caps (see top of unit in photo) to create a seamless backdrop for each shelf. It would leave some exposed wires without some other way to cover them. The A3SWG is designed and delivered to work with 2 shelves or 3 shelves. One last thing -- I got lucky and bought mine at $99 with free super saver shipping -- but $139 is not an outrageous price. Happy Aerogardening!

Slow or no grow, excellent customer relations people

by Norm H from Long Island, NY on 2009-10-21
I followed the instructions as to how to use the Aeorgarden seed pods that came with the unit. Todate, which is about 4 weeks later, one pod did not grow. That was replaced by Aerogarden after more than two weeks after informing them of the problem. Their phone staff is excellent. As of today, one pod is growing the other one hasn't started. It is now 4 weeks after "planting" The pod says to allow 14 -20 days before it will sprout. I am going to wait another week, before I call for a replacement pod. This shouild be a great unit, but so far it is at best just satifactory. I bought two others, before I got the results of this one. My bad! The advsertising literature made it look wonderful. I hope they come close to the pcitures. I will follow up this comment in a while after I see how the othere units grow.(or don't)
