How to take care of snapdragon flowers inside?

Honestly, I know nothing about caring for the flowers, but my boyfriend loves flowers, so I want to make an indoor garden dragon for him. How to care for snapdragons? The flowers are safe to eat? (She says the flowers are edible, on the seed packet, but do not know if that's a typo or something.) Do not have started in the garden, however, I have an idea of what I'm doing first.
